Shawn Wu is in his final year at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Commerce, pursuing a bachelor of commerce with a double-minor in economics and psychology.
In the summer of 2016, Shawn was a member of the Venture Services team at MaRS, where he worked across the information and communications technology, health and and cleantech sectors to improve service for more than one thousand Canadian innovation ventures. Before working at MaRS, Shawn spent eight months working with RBC’s Technology and Operations team, rotating on business initiatives spanning intrapreneurship, green IT, mobile depositing and process improvement.
Previously, Shawn led the Volunteer Consulting Group, a student initiative at U of T that provides pro-bono consulting for local non-profits, doubling its capacity and serving 10 non-profit clients with a combined operating budget of over $20 million.
Born and raised in Shenzhen, China, Shawn moved to Guelph, Ontario, with his family as a teen before choosing the vibrant and embracive city of Toronto as his current home.
