Phillip Mogodi is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the University of Toronto. His academic background includes an honours degree in engineering (cum laude), a master of science in applied economics, a graduate diploma in engineering and a master of business administration (completed with distinction) from institutions in the United Kingdom and South Africa. He is a recipient of numerous prizes, merit awards, scholarships, fellowships and medals for outstanding academic achievement, leadership and innovation.
Phillip is a qualified mining engineer and has worked for the mining firm Anglo American over the past nine years. During his most recent role with the company, he worked in the CEO’s office as a PMO associate managing strategic projects that were aimed at saving the organization $100 million over a three-year period. Phillip has also freelanced as a mineral economist for more than four years, working for organizations including the United Nations, the South African government and the World Bank.
Phillip was born in Potgietersrus, South Africa, and currently lives in Toronto.
