Dasami Moodley has a bachelor of arts from McGill University, where she studied political theory and behavioural science. She is currently a Dean’s Scholar at OCAD University, where she is pursuing her master of design in strategic foresight and innovation. Previously, Dasami received a scholarship from General Assembly to study user experience design in San Francisco, where she learned technical skills in digital design and prototyping.
Dasami recently returned to Ontario after spending five years living in India and California, where she built digital businesses that aim to create systemic social impact. She built two venture-backed startups in India: InVenture, a Google Ventures–backed company that develops financial identities for unbanked individuals, and Mobile Vaani, a participatory news channel for illiterate individuals who do not have access to the Internet. As an innovation consultant, Dasami worked on teams that developed accessibility applications for the world’s most engaged online audiences and helped craft Mayo Clinic’s digital innovation strategy through rapid product development methodologies.
Dasami was born in South Africa and spent her childhood in small towns across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. She currently calls Toronto home.
