Daryl Dominique has a bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering from Laurentian University. Working out of the Fortin Discovery Lab’s product development facility, Daryl regularly works with innovative new companies and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to help them build new products and establish a stronger foothold in Canadian manufacturing.
Daryl is the founder and CEO of Hexic Monitoring Systems, a company that develops sensors that track the integrity of mechanical systems in order to prevent failures. He was awarded the $25,000 People’s Choice Award at the 2016 NORCAT pitch competition for Hexic. Daryl is also the co-founder and CEO of CMD Prototyping, which provides rapid prototyping and concept design services to customers using a variety of 3D Computer Aided Design and 3D-printing techniques.
Daryl has been a speaker at events such as TEDx and Let’s Talk Science, where he encourages taking a more creative approach to scientific learning and endeavours.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Daryl has made his home in Northern Ontario, participating in the growing entrepreneurial communities of the North and bringing the perspective of smaller townships and new networks to Toronto.
