Allyson Hewitt

Cross-Sector Connectivity stream

Allyson Hewitt is leading our Cross-Sector Connectivity stream. Allyson is currently a J.W. McConnell Family Foundation senior fellow for social innovation at MaRS, a position she took on after serving as MaRS’ director of social entrepreneurship for six years.

Prior to joining MaRS, Allyson served as the executive director for a number of not-for-profit organizations, including Safe Kids Canada (a national injury prevention program run by the Hospital for Sick Children), Community Information Toronto and Youth Without Shelter. She also managed Hewitt and Johnson Consultants, a new media fundraising and communications firm that she co-founded, for a decade.

Allyson has a rich depth of expertise in non-profit management, governance, fund development, social innovation, social entrepreneurship and networking. She has been and continues to be Studio Y’s biggest champion and always sees the big picture of where it is headed.
